I am a postdoctoral fellow for the Major Transitions in the Evolution of Cognition project. I am based at the School of Philosophy of the Australian National University (ANU), where I am supervised by Colin Klein.
My research focuses on various philosophical issues that arise in relation to the scientific study of geometric and spatial cognition. My areas of specialization are philosophy of mind and cognitive science. But I am also deeply interested in philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of science and philosophy of language. From 2020 to 2022, I was a SSHRC postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Philosophy at the University of British Columbia (UBC) under the supervision of Eric Margolis. I completed my PhD in philosophy at the University of Sheffield. My thesis was entitled Where Am I? The Cognitive Architecture of Spatial Reorientation. I was supervised by Stephen Laurence and Luca Barlassina. Here is my CV. You can contact me at: alexandre.duval -at- anu.edu.au |
